Gustav Klimt Inspired Scratch Art

I am truly amazed with the amount of detail and sheer dedication that went into these masterpieces. Enjoy!

8th grade artists first explored the decorative art of Gustav Klimt. Inspired by his unique motifs, they began to create their own designs on scratch art paper. Students were encouraged to create high contrast compositions with a distinct foreground, middle-ground, and background. If you look closely, the figures' clothing is also creatively manipulated. Students have the option to use self-portraits or images cut from magazines as their subject. Some students decided to include "tree of life" inspired designs as well.
