SO MUCH TO DO! So little time...Updates & Reminders

HELLO STUDENTS & PARENTS!

It's getting close...the END OF THE YEAR that is! Here are some things you need to know:

1. The CRES test is scheduled for the end of May. We will begin organizing ideas the week of May 20th. If you are unfamiliar with the Elements and Principles please review these vocabulary words and understand how they apply to your artwork! True artists describe their work using the language of Art. 7th and 8th graders you will need to BRING YOUR DEVICES (if they are registered) from May 20th ON to create your digital portfolios! Digital cameras can be brought to class as well!

2. Portfolios will be brought home following the CRES test. I can't wait for everyone at home to see these wonderful pieces in person!

3. All students and parents, STAY TUNED FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THE END OF THE YEAR DIGITAL ART SHOW!

IMPORTANT END OF THE YEAR NEWS and REMINDERS!

Hello All Students AND Parents!

As the 2012/2013 school year nears an end, I want to remind everyone of a few things...

1. Sketchbooks are needed throughout the end of the year. If they have been lost, new ones can be purchased at the school store and copies of project sheets can be downloaded and printed out directly from my website. http://neelsartroom.weebly.com/ It is important that students have access to all materials that have been handed out since the beginning of the year to be successful on the CRES test. Please bring regular #2 pencils to class as well. School is not over until June 14th :).

2. The CRES Test is tentatively scheduled for the end of May and will be treated as a "real world" Art exhibition/showcase and artist portfolio. 7th and 8th grade students will be creating digital portfolios of their work and 6th grade will be organizing the end of the year DIGITAL ART SHOW! More info to come!

3. 7th and 8th Grade students should have all signed onto Edmodo.com by now (even without registered "BYOD" devices). If you have not, please see Ms. Neel for an updated group code. It is not too late to register a device! You need the device model, serial number, and a parent signature.

4. Please visit this blog regularly! It's a great way to stay connected with NEELSARTROOM! Simply go to http://neelsartroom.weebly.com/ and click on "ART BLOG" at the top. Bookmark the page!

5. Follow me on Twitter @NeelsArtRoom, or Instagram at NeelsArtRoom.

I'm very excited to post pictures of our current projects SOON! 6th grade VALUE drawings, 7th Grade Powerful Portraits and 8th Grade Trash to Creative Treasure Sculptures...STAY TUNED!
