One of my favorite projects for the fifth year in a row. #WKMSArt.
This crayon wax resist focuses on several elements and principles including (but not limited to) color, texture, shape, line, pattern, emphasis, and variety. These richly colored, decorative pieces explore medieval art using a unique medium. Students were also asked to incorporate subject matter from the middle ages such as landscapes, plant-like images, mythological creatures, etc.

8th Grade Skeletal Abstractions
These are only our rough drafts. We started our final artwork today and will be adding colorful abstract images using oil pastels and watercolor inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings.
