INCREDIBLE Art Contest Opportunities!

Opportunity #1
Do you want to show off your creative side? Maybe win some money? Recognition? Fame? DOODLE FOR GOOGLE! Students in grades k-12 are invited to redesign GOOGLE's homepage banner. Winners will be chosen by guest judges like Katy Perry and Jordan Sparks. The National winner will be awarded a $30,000 college scholarship and have his or her doodle featured on the U.S. Google.com homepage. The top 10 doodles from MD will be on display at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. See Ms. Neel in room 110 for details and other great Art contests! Don't wait! Let's show off the talent at WKMS!

Opportunity #2
Science and Engineering Fair Cover Contest. The winning designs at each level will be displayed on the covers of their divisional fairs. In addion winners will be mentioned on Channel 18 and invited to the ceremony on March 24th.

Deadline for submissions is March 9th.

Entry Design Requirements:

• All entries shoudl be black and white, good quality, and submitted on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
• Actual art work is to be no more than 7 1/2 x 10 inches allowing at least a half inch border around the entry.
• All artwork must be in portrait (vertical) format rather than landscape (horizontal).
• All entries must include the words "31 Annual Frederick County Science and Engineering Fair."
• All entries must include artwork depicting a science, mathematics, or engineering theme. (A combination of these are encouraged).

Please submit your entries to Ms. Neel BEFORE the deadline.
 
Opportunity #3
Fair Housing Poster Contest. Theme: Fair Housing Lives in Maryland
 
Official Poster Rules:

• Posters must be in landscape format (horizontal) 8 1/2 x 11.
• Posters must be produced in color.
• Any materials can be used.
• All entries MUST display the REALTOR and Fair Housing logos (please see Ms. Neel for a copy of these logos) and the theme. (Theme: Fair Housing Lives in Maryland).
• All entries must be labeled on the back of the poster (please see Ms. Neel for necessary forms).

Deadline for Entries is Feb. 17th
